Is It A Table or A Work Of Art ?

Creativity, has been said, consists largely of rearranging what we know in order to find out what we do not know. Hence, to think creatively, we must be able to look afresh at what we normally take for granted.” — George Kneller

these words uttered by George Kneller really came to life after looking at the amazing creativity that went into these tables. For most of us when we hear the word table, we think of a piece of glass or wood with four legs. And for the most part we are correct. However, that’s not what came to the minds of the people who came up with these amazing designed tables. Now whether they thought of a table first and were looking for new ways to render them or they thought of the animal and wanted to see if they can be used as tables, we do not know. But one thing is certain, to fuse the two concepts into a working and useful product is nothing but spectacular.
Take for example this under water scene. An octopus swimming next to some corals while you are having a glass of wine. What! This thought to me is unreal, however this is what this artist was able to accomplish with this table.

Or what about having a frog staring at you while you eat your dinner? Yes, I know this is not what most of us want on or under our dinner table, but for someone to make such a thought a reality is certainly impressive in my mind.

We can go on and on with these amazing pieces of art, but the truth is most of us prefer something a lot more customary and classic in design. But regardless of your taste of tables in your living room or dining room, we have to give it up to the men and women whose creative minds allow us to enjoy such wonderful works of useful art.

Interesting. Very artistic and creative but I'm not sure about the hippo table. Nice read.
