Fashion Handbags and Women, a Love Relationship That Never Ends
Most, if not all, women, desire to own a good handbag. Whether for personal convenience or just to have a classic piece that goes with all your outfits. Yes, handbags are second nature to women. In today’s world more and more women are willing to spend fortunes just to own the ‘It-Bag’. In fact, 21st Century designers are all competing to make that ‘It Bag’. Some of the top contenders are design houses like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Hermes among other names.
For decades, this personal extension of the woman on the move has intrigued fashion designers the world over, allowing for a variety of creative designs, styles and colors. Handbag designers are still having fun coming up with ways to wow the women of the world. Today, it all boils down to “who you are wearing” and who’s wearing what you are wearing, especially in the fashion and entertainment world. Joining the already filled designers lineup are big name fashion icons like Blake Lively, Kate Moss, Rihanna, and the Kardashian-Jenners.
A man may wonder, “What’s the big deal about women handbag?” Well, a woman’s handbag speaks volumes about her social status, independence, her style and savviness in fashion and sometimes even her financial status. It’s similar to the way men feel about their cars, you notice the car you notice me.
From as early as the age of five, handbags and girls form a lasting bond. As she slowly grows into womanhood her preferences in style and color go through several changes, and soon she like her mom, will go through dozens of handbags in her lifetime. However, if she considers herself to be a fashionista and likes having her handbags matching all her outfits this number may grow dramatically.
One thing’s for sure though, as she makes the transition from a little girl to a young lady, something very special happens. Her handbag becomes her personal space not to be invaded by anyone. Going through a woman’s handbag without her permission is socially shunned and considered unacceptable. And this could be for the ‘invader’s’ own good. You never know what you might find in there, just ask security guards. Yes, a woman’s handbag becomes her most heavily guarded intimate space, only to be viewed by the owner.

As we can see, handbags have come a long way from their humble beginnings. But in actuality they have made little change in their use and fashion statements. As a matter of fact, you can still see flashbacks of their early designs.
In case you missed it, the Gucci, Valentino Marni and Fendis 2015 Spring Collection:
Today it's not uncommon to see women traveling with more than one handbag as they traverse the cities of the world or head to work. Most men see this as extra and un-necessary baggage. But a woman will simply tell you it’s about practicality: one bag carries all her personal stuff, and the other bag well it’s for the rest of her personal stuff. And by the way, my work papers are in this shopping bag. Most men may never fully understand the thinking behind the two or three handbags; to them it’s the eighth wonder of the world. Whatever her reasons, we have accepted her choices and styles as necessary and woman. We enjoy her fashion statements and applaud the confidence she exudes with her closest ally as she takes care of business.
